Dr Martyn B Speight, MB ChB, Dip. Sports Med, MLCOM, Dip M-S Med, FFSEM

Martyn graduated in Medicine from Sheffield University in 1993 and gained experience in specialties relevant to musculoskeletal medicine such as orthopaedics, A&E, rheumatology, spinal injuries and general practice. He went on to complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Medicine (University of Nottingham) in 1997 and the following year enrolled at the London College of Osteopathic Medicine where he gained manual therapy skills through study and some 900 hours of clinical practice. On completion, he was awarded membership of the college and became eligible for dual registration with the General Osteopathic Council. In 2001, he completed the Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine, and later also became a Founding Fellow of Sport and Exercise Medicine (Edinburgh). He is a member of a number of organisations including (but not limited to) the British Institute of Musculoskeletal Medicine (BIMM), the British Association of Sports Medicine (BASEM) and the International Spine Intervention Society .
In addition to his clinical work, Martyn is involved in the education and training of other doctors being a tutor for BIMM and an examiner for the Diploma of Musculoskeletal Medicine.
Martyn sees patients privately both here at the clinic and also at The Yorkshire Clinic in Bingley. He sees a range of patients with musculoskeletal problems and injuries, in both the general population and the sporting fraternity (at both amateur and professional level).
Professional sports clients include a number of UK football clubs (including Premier League teams), Rugby Union and League Clubs and a number of elite individual olympic and other world class athletes.
